What's a conversation with you like?

What's a conversation with you like?
Someone asked me this week.

Here's what I told them:

My clients are practical, action-oriented people.
They have tough decisions to make.
Often under pressure.

My role is to help them think differently about what's in front of them.
We look at unconsidered angles. Challenge assumptions. Test ideas.

It's cathartic.

They're not looking for hand-holding or enlightenment.
They want clarity so they can get on with things.

That's the work.

Think Different

I love it when there's a seemingly Unreasonable Agenda. The Apple Think Different campaign epitomised this. Just look at the change makers: Albert Einstein: Questioned absolute space-time. Bob Dylan: Reimagined song meanings poetically. Martin Luther King Jr.: Envisioned equality beyond segregation. Richard Branson: Ignored business conventions fearlessly.
