Ever wonder why some people excel under pressure while others crumble?

The secret lies in what happens before the spotlight hits.

I believe in practice before action.

In the book High Performance Damian Hughes says:

What's done in the shadows will reveal itself in the light.

That's a phrase I've adopted. I often say it to my clients, especially when they're preparing for an important meeting. It makes them think differently.

Especially when they are resisting the extra effort and time practice takes.

But the results are worthwhile.

To quote a client this week

If you want elite performance, you have to put in the groundwork. You can't just wing it. You need to go all in.

Think Different

I love it when there's a seemingly Unreasonable Agenda. The Apple Think Different campaign epitomised this. Just look at the change makers: Albert Einstein: Questioned absolute space-time. Bob Dylan: Reimagined song meanings poetically. Martin Luther King Jr.: Envisioned equality beyond segregation. Richard Branson: Ignored business conventions fearlessly.
