What did each of the consultants do this week to grow the business?

That's what I ask ambitious owners when we get started.

They usually don't know.

But, over time, they develop accurate, data-based reporting 😱.

Working together we make sure:

— They establish predictive key results indicators.
— They know precisely which actions move the dial for these indicators.
— They encourage, reward, and recognise the consultants taking those actions.

And importantly that they adjust focus and capacity to make all this happen.

Results follow.

"
And when they do find time, they are frazzled, squeezing it in between back-to-back meetings.

Their revenue strategy involves making desperate sales calls towards the end of projects, or random acts of marketing. Frankly, it's amateur time … unprofessional.

The pundits are suggesting 2024 is going to be tough for consulting firms.

May I ask you a question: What did each of the consultants do this week to grow the business?

What's really going on

“ … all of us hold on tightly to many things we don’t really have.” This line from Patrick Rhone’s book - This Could Help - got me thinking about our attitudes toward pipelines, relationships, and services.

Think Different

I love it when there's a seemingly Unreasonable Agenda. The Apple Think Different campaign epitomised this. Just look at the change makers: Albert Einstein: Questioned absolute space-time. Bob Dylan: Reimagined song meanings poetically. Martin Luther King Jr.: Envisioned equality beyond segregation. Richard Branson: Ignored business conventions fearlessly.
