A checklist with 9 reasons clients might consider hiring you

... in preference to using in-house resources.

Which of these can you provide as a service?

1/ To lead: The experience and authority to give strategic direction and recommendations.

2/ To augment: Provide additional expertise, skills, and bandwidth beyond the client's current capabilities.

3/ To provoke: Bring fresh perspectives that challenge the status quo and identify new opportunities.

4/ To transfer knowledge: The know-how and skills to build internal capacity and expertise.

5/ For independent assessment: Providing data-driven analysis of business practices, operations, or performance.

6/ For best practices: Assessment of the client's business against industry benchmarks and best practices.

7/ To manage risk: Bringing expertise in areas such as regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, or crisis management.

8/ For interim leadership: Providing interim leadership and stability, when there is a gap that requires executive-level experience.

9/ For objectivity: Giving an impartial and neutral perspective, in situations where internal; agendas could bias decision-making.

And which of these have you discussed with clients recently?

Think Different

I love it when there's a seemingly Unreasonable Agenda. The Apple Think Different campaign epitomised this. Just look at the change makers: Albert Einstein: Questioned absolute space-time. Bob Dylan: Reimagined song meanings poetically. Martin Luther King Jr.: Envisioned equality beyond segregation. Richard Branson: Ignored business conventions fearlessly.
